What is TWC's Outreach Program?
TWC's Outreach program enables students and teachers the opportunity to learn more about technology and the various options available currently. The digitization of the corporate world is occurring rapidly and technology is the future of every company today. By offering opportunities to hear about and view leading edge technology, students may become more aware of what technology exists today and what will be happening in the future. TWC offers a variety of opportunities to assist with transition from education to business / research including not only programs for students, but sessions for teachers only, enabling them to bring technology into the classroom themselves.

Who is eligible for the Outreach program?
Speakers: Any member of TWC may sign up to be an Outreach Speaker. Speaking experience is desired, but is not mandatory. TWC may request presentation materials prior to the engagement, and also an overview of the presentation. Student and teacher satisfaction surveys will be supplied at the end of the session for feedback on how TWC Outreach might alter its focus or change the process for future engagements. Business experience of a minimum of 2 years is required. Teachers/Professors/Students: Educators as well as students are encouraged to participate, and request engagements with TWC members. If a request is made by a student, that student's teacher and principal or professor will be notified of their interest. An engagement will be set based upon the general or specific technology area of interest.

Why should I get involved?
Learning and teaching about technology is rewarding. Technology can seem overwhelming to many that might not understand the practicality behind the end result. And technology affects us in almost everything we do---from watching TV, to contacting our VISA card company, to driving a car---knowledge of technology is a useful asset. By becoming involved, we're investing in the future of our region and the expanded growth of our community. This is also a terrific opportunity to help guide and shape a student's life by a simple presentation or discussion. The networking opportunities with individuals that have similar interests also may be a useful tool as you continue on your career path.
